I would like to announce I am now part of the Scrappers Delights Design Team.
There are several newbies on the team and I am first to introduce myself so here it goes!
I am Nicky Greenfield, 32 years old and am originally from Grantham , UK. I recently moved to Texas, USA with my husband as he was offered a job over here. I have no idea how long we will stay in the states but we are here for now.
I fill my time with crafting and volunteering for a local pet rescue centre. I am currently fostering a cat with them, trying to find her a loving home.
I have been crafting since I was small, starting off with cross stitch, I made my mother a hot air balloon design for her 40th birthday. That was 20 years ago! I progressed from cross stitch designs to card making with my cross stitch designs, then progressed onto cardmaking on its own. I also knit and am learning to crochet.
My favourite medium to use on my cards is my promarkers. I also have a thing for buttons at the moment, so you may see a few pop up in my designs.
I would say that my normal style is clean and simple. I like to show off the image I am using and I dont like to put too much clutter on the card. I am working on my embellishments a bit to try and make them more fancy but not too cluttered.
As an introduction to you all i have made the following project. It is using the image 'Vegi Babies Sweet Pea' from Scrappers Delights. Its available here at the Scrappers Delights store.
This was a really fun image to use. I love that its a bit cheeky with the babys bum sticking out :)
I made this in a neutral colour so the card could be used for a boy or girl. I coloured the image using the following promarkers:
Skin - Dusky Pink, Blush and Sunkissed Pink.
Hair - Sandstone, Caramel and Cinnamon.
Clothes - Yellow and Buttercup.
Bib - Gold and Amber.
Eyes - Powder Blue, Pastel Blue and Arctic Blue.
Mouth - Pink Carnation.
Shadow - Warm Grey 1.
I matted the image onto co-ordinating plain yellow card. I added 3D foam tape to the back. I matted matching striped yellow card onto the same colour plain yellow card and stuck to a white 7"x7" card blank. I added a small strip of co-ordinating patterned yellow card with a matching yellow ribbon added to it then matted onto the same plain yellow card. (This is just smaller than the striped background paper). I stuck it flat onto the striped paper, added the image and cut 3x 3D flowers from the same plain yellow card. I added brads to the centre of each flower to match the card and added a bow to the strip of ribbon.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about me and I hope you like my introduction project.
Keep an eye on the facebook group as each day for the next week or two there will be more introductions from the rest of the newbies on the team.
